The ongoing science fiction horror series created by the Duffer Brothers, “Stranger Things” is set to release its fifth and final season, with its first episodes releasing on Netflix starting Nov. 26, 2025. On Nov. 6, 2025, Netflix released a sneak peak of the first five minutes of the season. This five minute clip left fans in wonder and eager to stream the final season.
The five minute clip was presented through Tudum, a companion site to Netflix that streams events. This event started at 8 p.m. EST. During this event they celebrated the soon to be released season as well as past seasons, showing interviews with the cast, various trivia games and the long-awaited first five minutes.
Four new characters will be joining the cast for the final season. Linda Hamilton will play Dr. Kay, Neil Fisher will play an older version of Holly Wheeler, Jake Connelly is casted as Derek and Alex Breaux is casted as Lt. Akers.
The five minute clip showcases a flashback from season one of the series with never seen before footage. Onscreen is young Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp. Byers is in the “Upside Down” dimension singing lyrics to “Should I Stay or Should I Go” by the Clash. He is in Castle Byers which is a home he created in the woods as a child, sitting on the floor shaking. Byers stands up immediately after hearing a strange noise in the woods. Once the show’s iconic monster, the demogorgon, finds him, he sprints up to grab weapons to fight the animal off. Viewers then see Byers run for safety through the Upside Down with flashing red lights, vines and loud noises in the background. Byers starts to climb up a tree in order to get away from the monster. The demogorgon jumps onto the tree in an attempt to grab Byers. While Byers tries to jump to another tree then suddenly misses and hits the floor; leaving his backpack hanging from the tree.
Byers gets dragged by the demogorgon and meets the villain from season four: Vecna. Byers gets wrapped up in vines from the upside down and he gets pinned to the wall; Vecna reaches out an arm and starts to choke Byers.
“You and I are going to do such beautiful things together, William. Such beautiful things.” Vecna said while levitating over Byers.
After the new teaser posted by the Duffer Brothers, fans have been in suspense wondering how the fifth season sci-fi horror series will end.
