What sport are you the captain for?
“Girls Hockey.”
How do you feel going into this season as a captain and having a large leadership position for your team?
“I have high expectations for this team this season. We have a strong returning class and nine freshmen joined the team this year adding depth to the lineup. We also have one returning coach from last season and two new coaches who are excited for the season to get started!”
What do you plan on bringing to this year’s season?
“This year I hope to bring a positive team culture. I also will make sure I am there for my teammates on and off the ice.”
Do you plan to continue your sport in college?
“I hope to play club in college.”
What are your goals for your team this season and how do you plan on achieving them?
“This season our goal is to make the playoffs, play as a team and support each other.”
Do you do any clubs or activities outside of your sport?
“I’m in Best Buddies and participate in Unified track and basketball, National Green School Society and Hearts in Action.”
What is your advice to newcomers of this sport?
“My advice to the newcomers is to have fun and work hard because it truly does go by so fast.”
Did you foresee yourself being captain in the past, or when you had first started?
“I always looked up to the past captains and hoped I would become one.”
What are you looking forward to the most for this season and why?
“This season, I am looking forward to playing with the team for one more year. Most of us have grown up playing together and these past three years, the team is what made hockey season so special. When you spend six days a week with the team, between practices, games and team bonding is what makes everybody so close.”
Do you have any go-to pump-up songs, snacks, or pre-game rituals?
“I always put my left skate on before my right skate.”
What’s one tradition or ritual you hope to continue or start as a captain this year?
“The fashion show and we hope to create new traditions this year.”

What sport are you the captain for?
“I’m the captain for the girls ice hockey team.”
How do you feel going into this season as a captain and having a large leadership position for your team?
“I am really excited heading into this season. We have a good amount of returners and some really strong freshmen coming in and I think there’s a lot of potential for our team. I look forward to being able to lead this team to a very successful season and I’m excited to create a good team environment!”
What do you plan to bring to this year’s season?
“I really want to have consistency and good communication. I want to be really positive and also push my teammates to be the best they can be. I also hope to create a well bonded team which will help us both on and off the ice!”
Do you plan to continue your sport in college?
“I am going to be playing field hockey at Union College, but I am definitely open to playing club hockey too!”
What are your goals for your team this season and how do you plan on achieving them?
“My goal for this season as a team is to always be working hard and be successful on the ice. These go hand-in-hand, as working hard tends to lead to success, which also helps to create a good team bond off the ice!”
Do you do any clubs or activities outside of your sport?
“I’m part of Morgan’s Message, I’m on the Student Council and I also play field hockey and lacrosse for our school.”
What is your advice to newcomers of this sport?
“My advice to newcomers would be to work hard and push yourself to be the best player you can be while also having fun!”
Did you foresee yourself being captain in the past, or when you had first started?
“No, I did not foresee it until I was in my junior year. I didn’t even start playing hockey until eighth grade. One of my teammate’s dads asked if I could try it because they needed a goalie and I basically jumped in without knowing what I was getting into.”
What are you looking forward to the most for this season and why?
“I am most looking forward to just being with my teammates. No matter if it is on the ice, team dinners, the fashion show or selling Christmas trees we somehow always seem to make it a fun situation, even if it is freezing cold!”
Do you have any go-to pump-up songs, snacks, or pre-game rituals?
“I always have to put on my right skate before my left skate and then tie then starting with my right! My favorite pregame hype song would probably be “Run This Town” by Rihanna and Jay-Z.”
What’s one tradition or ritual you hope to continue or start as a captain this year?
“I hope to continue the team dinner ritual of having one before each game and I hope to start some more traditions for the team, especially something during the postseason tournament!”
