Fall items are back at Dunkin and have returned customer favorites such as the Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte and the pumpkin muffin. I stopped by Dunkin and tried their new fall menu items to review which ones are worth purchasing.
Apple Cider Donut: This is a classic, it tastes very sweet and emulates real apple cider perfectly. It is the embodiment of fall within a donut and is a nice addition to the menu. This donut was delicious, I definitely recommend it. If you love apples and enjoy cinnamon sugar this donut is worth a try.
Pumpkin Donut: This donut was delicious, but I didn’t really taste the pumpkin flavor. It was slightly present, but wasn’t really significant. The glaze on top adds extra sweetness, which I did enjoy. I felt this donut tasted more similar to an original donut than a pumpkin flavored one. For a pumpkin donut, I don’t think I would repurchase as it was not meeting the expectations I had.
Pumpkin Muffin: The muffin tasted similarly to the donut in terms of texture, but had much more flavor. The muffin had a true pumpkin flavor that wasn’t overwhelming. The frosting across the top of the muffin added extra sweetness which I thoroughly enjoyed. The muffin was very moist and the flavor stayed active throughout the muffin. I would definitely repurchase this for breakfast or an afternoon snack.
Almond Spice Iced Coffee: Going into this, I wasn’t expecting much as I’m not a fan of almond or cinnamon spice flavored coffees. This coffee’s main focus was on the flavoring of cinnamon and almond. This combination did not work well together and overpowered the coffee flavor. Unless you love cinnamon spiced drinks, I’d say you could save your money on the Almond Spice Coffee.
Pumpkin Iced Chai Latte: The chai in the drink was great as it was very sweet and delicious. However, the drink lacked a pumpkin flavor, and the chai flavoring overpowered it completely. I’d possibly consider trying it hot in order to strengthen the flavor. If you are looking for a chai latte, I’d recommend just ordering the regular one and saving your money on the additional flavor.
Pumpkin Spice Iced Signature Latte: I really enjoyed this drink and I felt it had a significant amount of pumpkin flavor without becoming overwhelming. . The garnishes on top include whipped cream, caramel drizzle and cinnamon sugar, all adding to the flavor exceptionally. This drink included the pumpkin flavor I’ve been looking for, and was a perfect drink for fall. If you end up trying one of Dunkins’ fall coffees, I’d recommend trying this one for a sweet taste of fall.
Though Dunkin produced a large fall menu this year, they may need to focus on quality over quantity next year. With some items being amazing, others were completely lacking in flavor and are not worth purchasing. Overall, the Dunkin fall menu so far has been disappointing, and I’m hoping they make improvements next year!
