Adding to the numerous holidays that companies use to market new products, Valentine’s Day has become a popular time for businesses to sell specialty items. Dunkin’ has officially released their new Valentine’s Day menu with both new and old donut and drink flavors.

Brownie Batter Specialty Donut
The donut was the perfect ratio of donut to brownie filling. It was a soft donut stuffed with a gooey taste of rich brownie batter. The filling was thick, smooth and tasted exactly like brownie batter before it gets baked. The outside was a classic Dunkin’ donut: soft, slightly chewy and lightly glazed. It was super sweet and very chocolaty.

Cupid’s choice specialty donut
Similar to the brownie batter donut, the ratio between the smooth cream filling and donut was perfect. It was a good mix of two very popular donuts with the Boston cream filling and the strawberry frosting. Despite the donut having a good balance in texture, the flavor was slightly boring compared to the brownie batter donut since the flavors in Cupid’s choice can be found in year round donuts.

Valentines Sprinkle Donut Hole Treat
These munchkin specialties are a bite size version of Dunkin’s classic glazed donut but with a colorful Valentine’s colored sprinkle. The donut hole was soft and slightly chewy with a thick layer of vanilla glaze. The sprinkles added a little crunch but didn’t change the flavor. It is simple, sugary and the taste was delicious.

Raspberry Watermelon Refresher
This item was originally on the Dunkin’ menu in 2023 but had been discounted ever since. Nearly two years later, the drink was brought back and can be made with lemonade, green tea or water. The taste is very similar to a watermelon flavored Jolly Rancher, super fruity and sweet, with a bit of sour from the raspberry. The watermelon flavoring is more candy-like rather than fresh fruit, so the taste is more of a sugary punch. It’s light, refreshing and a little tropical, but definitely more on the sweeter side of Dunkin’s menu.

Raspberry Lava Cake Iced Coffee
The drink tastes similar to chocolate covered raspberries mixed with regular cold brew coffee. The mocha base is smooth, slightly bitter with a rich chocolate flavor, while the raspberry swirl adds a fruity sweetness that makes it taste like a fancy dessert. The coffee flavor is still noticeable but the chocolate and raspberry combination makes the drink feel like more of a treat than an everyday coffee.

Lava Cake Iced Coffee
This drink tastes more like a molten lava cake in coffee form. The mocha flavor is deep and chocolatey but isn’t overpowering in sweetness. It offers more of a dark chocolate flavor rather than chocolate milk based. It is basically a mocha iced coffee that leans more toward the dessert side while still having the classic coffee taste.

Brown Sugar Iced Coffee
This coffee tastes just like any other coffee with brown sugar syrup in it. The brown sugar gives a deep, caramelized sweetness that is a little richer than regular caramel swirls. It has a slight molasses flavor, similar to brown sugar oatmeal or cinnamon sugar cookies. It’s sweet but not overwhelming and blends smoothly with the coffee flavoring.

White Hazel Bark Iced Coffee
While trying this coffee, it tasted like white chocolate and hazelnut candy in the form of a Dunkin’ drink. The white chocolate adds a creamy, buttery sweetness, while the hazelnut brings a smooth nutty flavor to kind of resemble Nutella. It’s rich, sweet and very much a dessert like coffee.
