“I am an all-star cheerleader and I am also in the Community Service Club.”

“I started cheerleading in second grade.”
Do you want to continue cheerleading in college?
“I am unsure if I want to continue to cheer in college.”
What advice do you have for underclassmen that participate in your sport?
“Always give it 100% because it will not only help you in the moment but also in the future.”
How do you feel going into the season as a captain?
“I feel like I am very dedicated to the team.”
Do you feel any different going into this season as captain than you did in previous years?
“I think I have a different perspective on how to help make the team a fun and safe place to be while also making sure we get in the right amount of practice to make us successful.”
What goals do you have for this season and how do you plan to achieve them?
“Our goal is to have a successful year and we plan to achieve it by always having a positive attitude.”
Did you foresee yourself being captain in the past, or when you had first started?
“I did see myself being a good captain in the future but considering there were also many other girls in my grade I knew it was definitely going to be difficult to get here.”
Abbey Gondelman:

“I am a part of the Community Service Club and a junior coach of Walpole Youth Cheer.”
When did you begin cheerleading?
“I started cheerleading in second grade.”
Do you want to continue cheerleading in college?
“I do not know if I will continue to cheer in college.”
What advice do you have for underclassmen that participate in your sport?
“You should always try your best to be a good teammate and pull your weight so it is easier to work as a team. Underclassmen should also get involved in as many tumbling classes as possible in order to gain skills and bond more cohesively with the team.”
How do you feel going into the season as a captain?
“I feel great! I am super excited to get the season started and be able to bring back old traditions that have been discarded in the past. I am also thrilled to see what competitions will look like this year as a captain.”
Do you feel any different going into this season as captain than you did in previous years?
“I feel like I have more control as well as leadership and will be able to help the team succeed.”
What goals do you have for this season and how do you plan to achieve them?
“I plan to have a successful season and hit zero at every competition. I also would love to win titles this year and make school history. We can do this by working our hardest at every practice and listening to every correction.”
Did you foresee yourself being captain in the past, or when you had first started?
“I did foresee myself being a captain because I have always shown leadership since freshman year, I just knew it would be difficult to achieve since there are nine other seniors.”
Hannah McCarthy:

“I am in the Humane Society and Community Service Club.”

“I began cheerleading in second grade.”
Do you want to continue cheerleading in college?
“It depends on the school, but in most cases I probably will not be continuing.”
What advice do you have for underclassmen that participate in your sport?
“Don’t be nervous, have fun with it and embrace it!”
How do you feel going into the season as a captain?
“I am grateful for the opportunity and I’m excited for this upcoming season.”
Do you feel any different going into this season as captain than you did in previous years?
“Most things feel the same, however I do feel a lot more responsibility for the team.”
What goals do you have for this season and how do you plan to achieve them?
“I want to make the team more engaged with games, and do lots of fundraising, I will achieve these by working with the team, and coming up with creative ideas.”
Did you foresee yourself being captain in the past, or when you had first started?
“I knew I wanted to be a captain since freshman year, so I always made a point to help the team out in any way that I can.”
